Welcome to my new blog! I have been working towards finally getting a blog to showcase my most recent client work and my personal projects I love to work on the side as well as my clients work. I am not much of a writer so I will keep it short and sweet (maybe not for this post now that i am done writing:). This will be a place to share my images with you, so please leave a comment so I know that you have stopped by 🙂
What perfect timing for my first post as today I received a very precious package in that mail. My AIPP print case arrived back from the National Awards that were held this year in Melbourne. Inside this case holds my award prints that I entered this year with the results!! This was such a big deal as this year I was unable to attend the awards and had only received some lovely txts from photographer friends present of how my prints where doing, but had idea how I actually did. But before I reveal some amazing news! For those that don’t know of the APPA’s (also known as the Canon Australian Professional Photography awards) or the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) let me explain what its all about.
This annual event draws talent from all over the country and showcases some of the most outstanding work from the some of the most wonderful photographers in Australia spread across many genres. The quality of the work showcased is so inspiring and can take the whole year’s worth of the creative process to present one print at these awards. The entered prints are judged by a panel of top photographers in their genres and scored out of 100 – Gold Distinction is 95-100, Gold 90-94, Silver Distinction 85-89 and Silver is 80-84. Member of the AIPP also accumulate points for high scores that over a number of year add together to achieving different member levels of excellence. With out going into too much detail if a print receives a Silver Award it is something to be very proud of!
That is why I have such amazing and humbling news! I entered 4 prints this year and am so proud to say that my client and personal prints won 2 silvers and 2 silver distinction awards. It is an amazing feeling to have your peers judge your work and receive wonderful accolades for what you are passionate about. So much time, creative energy, heart and soul are poured into awards images. It is a lovely pat on the back to say, yes keep going we like what we see.
Thank you to all my family, clients and friends, old and new, who have supposed me and have given me the endless inspiration and love to continue doing what I love most.
Lisa xx Looking forward to seeing you next time you stop by.

[…] Wow last week was amazing! I am just catching up to what happened at the 2012 AIPP WA Epson Professional Photographic Awards (WAPPA) this past July 1st-4th. This year I entered both the Landscape category and the Family category (from my client work) and to my amazement was awarded 2 GOLD (94 and 90!!!) awards and 1 Silver Distinction for my Landscape images and 3 Silver awards for my Family category images. AND… I was one of the finalists out of three in the Landscape category! I have been chasing that illusive Gold award for three years now and have come close a couple of times in the past and now to finally be awarded 2 in one year… I am over the moon happy and feel so humbled to have my fellow photographers award such high accolades to my photography! Here are my winning prints. (If you have been following for a while you may recognise the three maternity images I entered into this years AIPP National Awards. Find this blog post here). […]
